Taylor Momsen Does Seventeen Magazine

"Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen graces the cover of the new Seventeen magazine this month, looking like her typical rockstar and radiant self. In the issue Taylor dishes about her style, her inspirations, and what it is that truly makes her happy — and here’s a hint, it’s definitely not the glamorous life she leads on the Upper East Side!

She tells the mag, "I always have on a little vintage crystal circle necklace, a bunch of bracelets that I wear all the time, my two pinkie rings, and I'm always wearing hoops in my ears — those never come out."

Also among her favorite things to wear are pieces that don't fit like a glove. "I like to wear a lot of baggy things. Like, I buy guys' clothes, like T-shirts, and I cut them up and wear them loose, but my blazers have to be really fitted. I also like layering things and really short skirts — or showing off my legs." (Those legs, by the way, are not always an asset though. She says they make her a total klutz. "I mean, I'm like Bambi. I fall all over myself because I can't control my arms and my really long legs.")

Hayden Panettiere On Seventeen

In the issue, Hayden shares everything from heartbreak to her feelings towards our favorite vampire, Robert Pattison. Hayden shared some inside info about her first heartbreak when she told Seventeen, “My instinct when I go through heartbreak or a bad situation is to talk about it. To just talk and talk and talk about it. But that’s me, that’s not everybody. A lot of people, you know, their instinct isn’t to talk about it. Their instinct is to bury it and to distract themselves from it.”

In the midst of posing for the cameras, Hayden had time to speak about her fame and how she is able to distinguish between her fans loving the character’s that she plays, and really appreciating her as an actor. She said, “People fall so in love with characters in books or characters in movies, like ‘Twilight,’ you know? Girls are so in love with Robert Pattinson, because he played the part. They’re in the love with him as that character.”

In the magazine, Hayden looks gorgeous while posing wearing a purple dress, funky shirt and a bright yellow flowing top. As far as what Hayden has in store for the future she said, “I love my job. Does that mean that’s the only thing I want to do all the time? No. There are a lot of other things I would love to do, and I will hopefully be able to do them when I have the time.”

In the Seventeen magazine issue, Katy’s talking about everything from her dream wedding, her insanely hot sense of style and stars and their promise rings.

“I think that [Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers] set out to be role models, and I think, I at least hope they know what they’re doing,” Katy said of the teen stars’ choice to wear purity rings. “Because once you say you’re a role model, you’re under a microscope and everyone is waiting and watching for you to do something, you know?”

Katy Perry also dishes about how she’d prefer to have her relationships end. “During a breakup, I almost want you to hate me, because I can’t be friends with you. On her worst job she ever had:
“I worked at this place called Taxi, Taxi Music, where I would sit with headphones and a computer, and I would listen to music that people would send in from all around the country so they could get a critique on it and how to make it in the music industry. So you have to imagine how depressed I was after not making it in LA after five years, knowing everyone in the music industry couldn’t get a break, and sitting in this cubicle, listening to the worst music I’ve ever heard. I would tell these people ‘Well you have to change these chords’ or ‘This is how you contact a record label.’ And I was just like, I cannot give these people hope. I had no hope [myself.]”

On what the record labels thought of her:
“They wanted me to be like someone else who was popular at the time, like Avril Lavigne or Kelly Clarkson. No offense to them at all, because they have their own lane, but I desperately wanted my own lane. It took five years to convince people to let me do it.”

On what her life was like before she made it big:
“It was five years of living in L.A. with no money, writing bad checks, selling my clothes to make rent, borrowing money. Just trying to keep up with the Joneses. It was super-draining, but I knew inside it was going to happen. I was at least going to get my chance. I always say, ‘Step up to the plate and swing.’ It was up to me If I was going to hit that ball and run.”

On being a role model:
